I would highly recommend this surgery especially if you are receiving ongoing care. The doctors are amazing. I cannot rate them enough.
Similar to another review, I have found one doctor dealing with emergency appointments quite intimidating and dismissive in demeanor. I understand that a prescription isn’t always needed but bedside manner is not great here. I have left on a few occasions, quite embarrassed and upset.
I do not want this to effect the review of the practise as I will just avoid this doctor in future and the rest are honestly second to none.
I was asked by the GP that I saw to make another appointment to see her, was told no availability ring Wednesday so I did nothing again how can you make an appointment as requested by the GP when they can’t book more than 2weeks in advance and all appointments are taken - if it want for the fact that this is the ONLY surgery in the area I would go somewhere else
If you attend for a pre booked appointment the care is good,
However emergency surgery is hit and miss and on occasion I have found the drs dismissive and even rude.
While I appreciate a prescription is not always required, neither is eye rolling or an abrupt manner.
I see Sister Wendy every month as I have several health problems. Her expertise, support & advice are invaluable. It is 20 years since I had a heart by-pass. I feel so grateful to still be here. We are fortunate to have such a surgery at Sherburn.
While my care at the surgery is normally pretty good I have just spoke to a very rude receptionist who was clearly keen to hang up on me as quickly as possible. My last comment was that her response about my test results hadn't really helped me , she said by and hung up. I have never heard someone say bye so many times, she was clearly very keen to end the conversation.
